Service Projects and Events:

·         Trick or Treat for UNICEF: Students dress up in Halloween costumes and collect donations at PVHS. Also, boxes are set out in each classroom during the month of October to collect donations

·         BOO-GRAMS for Special Olympics: Students sell BOO-GRAMS the month of October for Special Olympics.

·         Reading is Fundamental: Students read to children in a Early Intervention Program at the Center Point Headstart Program 3 times a year

·         EWJC Christmas Home Tour: Students assisted in the tour of homes. All proceeds go to The Big Oak Ranch

·         Christmas Adopt a Family Project: Students brought Christmas stockings and presents for a family in need.

·         Nursing Home Christmas visit: Students visited a local nursing home and brough goodie bags for them.

·         Mercedes Marathon: Students volunteered at the race by giving out water and PowerAde to the participants at a water station

·         Shamrocks for Muscular Dystrophy: Students sell shamrocks to PVHS student body and faculty to raise money for muscular dystrophy

·         Special Olympics: Students assisted in volunteering with Jefferson County special Olympic athletes for the Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball,  and Track and Field

·         KIWANIS Luncheons: Students attend 3-4 luncheons with the Birmingham KIWANIS club throughout the year. There is always a guest speaker.

·         District Convention: Each year, Key Club members attend the Alabama Key Club Convention for all Key Clubs in Alabama. This event takes place over the course of the weekend and it allows students to gain a better understanding of Key Club, get service project ideas, and elect district officers

 

The Pinson Valley Key Club is made up of dedicated and driven students that possess outstanding leadership skills and a desire to serve others. There will be an informational meeting at the beginning of the school year for anyone wishing to join this organization. If you want to make a difference and be apart of something special, join the PVHS Key Club.
